Project Description

City of Riverside | Electrical Studies at Various Water Utility Facilities

Owner: City of Riverside
Period: 2025 – 2030

Overview

Overview

Kewo Engineering is providing an evaluation of the electrical systems and studies on an as-needed basis for the various water utility facilities. These efforts are focused on ensuring the ongoing safety, compliance, and operational reliability of the electrical infrastructure supporting essential water services. The evaluations help identify potential risks and areas for improvement, supporting proactive maintenance and system upgrades where necessary.

Kewo Engineering will perform electrical system studies for approximately 60 water utility facilities over the next five years. These facilities include about 50 groundwater wells and 10 booster pump stations in Riverside and San Bernardino, served by either Riverside Public Utilities or Southern California Edison.

The electrical studies involve a comprehensive assessment of the electrical equipment and circuits to analyze short circuit faults, protective device coordination, and arc-flash risks. Based on this analysis, Kewo Engineering will create recommendations to improve the safety and reliability of the water facilities.
