Kewo Engineering provided engineering services to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to support LADWP’s $15.8M contract for procurement of qty.6 160MVA 230kV and 138kV power transformers for several LADWP Receiving Stations.

Kewo Engineering’s services for this project include:

• Assisted LADWP engineers with answering technical questions by the transformer manufacturer, Baoding Tianwei Baobian, regarding LADWP applications, clarification of design criteria, and exceptions.
• Reviewed mechanical and electrical drawing submittals from the transformer manufacturer and provide markups, comments, and recommendations of approval. These drawings include high-voltage bushings, tap changers, transformer outline, core and winding, transformer base, valves, control cabinet, internal components, schematics, wiring, current transformers, nameplates, and bill of materials.
