DGS | Exposition Park Underground Parking Structure, Headquarters and Community Center, and Park (EPUHC)

The objective of this project is to develop performance design criteria to facilitate a Design-Build Entity in developing and delivering a new underground parking structure, surface parling areas, roadways, headquarters and community center building, infrastructure, and park for the office of Exposition Park Management.   

This project involves the demolition of existing parking lots, installation of underground utilities, and construction of a new 720,000 sqft parking garage. It will also construct an approximate 43,000 sqft Exposition Park Headquarters and Community Center with an emergency power system, a 120-space bus parking lot covered by shade structures with photo voltaic system. The project will be designed and constructed to obtain at a minimum LEED Gold certification and Zero Net Energy (ZNE). 

Kewo Engineering provides professional engineering and management services as the Criteria Architect/Engineer for the Exposition Park Underground Parking Structure, Headquarters and Community Center, and Park (EPUHC). Our services include the following:  

• Electrical Engineering 
  • Review available existing designs/drawings/documents of electrical infrastructure for the project site and in-scope facilities.  
  • Review preliminary estimate of electrical loads, including DC Fast Chargers for Buses and Level 2 EV Chargers 
  • Determine preliminary equipment layout, single line diagrams, and load schedule for LADWP electrical equipment and customer-owned electrical equipment 
  • Develop electrical design criteria for LADWP and customer-owned electrical equipment for inclusion in RFP documents.  

• Project Management, Engineering Support & Coordination 
  • Assess existing condition of electrical service and loads including lighting, EV charging stations, and others impacted by parking lot relocation 
  • Coordinate with LADWP to procure new electric service and associated new Industrial Station.  
  • Identify potential locations and required areas for Industrial Station, meters, and switchgear.  
  • Engineering support during RFP and bidding stages
