Kewo Engineering provided engineering services to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to support LADWP’s procurement of qty.160 15kV vacuum power circuit breakers for several LADWP facilities as part of LADWP’s Power System Reliability Program.

Kewo Engineering’s services for this project include:

• Assisted LADWP’s Substation Design, Relay Protection, Metering & Controls groups with developing technical specifications for the 15kV circuit breakers and updating standard specification drawings.
• Assisted LADWP engineers in specifying new SEL 751A relays and options for the contract.
• Assisted LADWP engineers with answering technical questions by the circuit breaker manufacturer, Siemens, regarding the circuit breaker specification.
• Reviewed drawing submittals from the circuit breaker manufacturer and provide markups, comments, and recommendations of approval. These drawings include bushings, equipment outline, circuit breaker mounting, control cabinet, internal components, schematics, wiring, current transformers, nameplates, and bill of materials.
