Overview
PWP is actively working on the installation of EV chargers throughout the City. The primary goal of these installations is to ensure the infrastructure is in place to support the growing demand for electric vehicles, while also promoting the transition to cleaner, more sustainable transportation options in the future.
Kewo Engineering is providing design services for the plan set of the PWP’s EV charger expansion. This includes:
- Designing and delivering a plan set for the expansion of EV charging infrastructure at the Pasadena Maintenance Yards to accommodate the growing fleet of electric vehicles.
- Preparing detailed designs for:
- (28) Level 2 EV chargers and (2) Level 3 DC Fast Chargers (ABB Terra Wallbox and A400 Dual CCS DCFCs).
- A new 5000-amp, 277/480V service to meet current and future power demands.
- Associated electrical and civil infrastructure required for installation, including:
- Layouts for chargers, transformer, switchgear, and step-down transformations for 120/208V miscellaneous loads.
- Structural details for concrete pads, bollards, wheel stops, and parking lot modifications.
- Data/communications infrastructure to support DCFC connectivity and Wi-Fi.
