Kewo Engineering provided cybersecurity consulting services to enhance the security and compliance of LADWP’s Power System substations. The project focused on evaluating LADWP’s existing Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) program and developing/updating CIP program, policies, processes, and procedures. As part of this effort, Kewo Engineering assessed LADWP’s Power System SCADA and Enterprise Systems to evaluate cybersecurity risks, compliance with NERC CIP standards, and overall system architecture, including SCADA networks, substation automation systems (SAS), and remote access controls. The assessment provided technical recommendations to enhance cybersecurity measures and align with industry best practices.
Kewo Engineering provided the following services:
- Enhance NERC CIP Program – Reviewed, developed, and updated LADWP’s NERC CIP program, policies, processes, and procedures document.
- SCADA and SAS Architecture Assessment – Assessed LADWP’s Power System SCADA and SAS architecture to identify cybersecurity risks and compliance gaps.
- Enterprise System Assessment – Evaluated the current state of LADWP’s Enterprise System, including architecture, IT/OT servers, substation servers/clients, domain controllers, pass-through workstations, SADAT, and remote access.
