Kewo Engineering Corporation was contracted to provide electrical services for the Los Angeles Department Pasadena water and power (PWP) underground and transmission and distribution design. The majority of transmission and distribution of PWP is delivered underground.

The following outlines engineering processes that we would do to perform the underground transmission and distribution design but are not limited to:

  • Conduct field investigations and prepare calculations, design drawings, construction and material standards, construction specifications, material and equipment specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules as may be required to define the work for completion by either the Utility or a Contractor hired by the Utility.
  • Construction support services including the preparation and updating of project schedules and completion-cost estimates, conducting weekly on-site project review meetings with Utility and contractor representatives, preparation of meeting agendas and meeting minutes, preparation and maintenance of action items, review of contractor submittals, requests for information, change requests, and payment requests, and completion of as-built records and drawings. 
  • Assist with preparation of bid packages, review of contractor bids and will provide construction support services. 
  • Perform Generation electrical facilities including but not limited to: Substations, Switchyard, Powerhouses. and Renewable energy resources 
  • Perform Hydroelectric generation and hydroelectric retrofit projects; Arc flash study, Station grounding study, Low voltage Switchgear replacement, Relay protection systems, and SCADA control and monitoring 
  • Gas-fired generation and gas-fired retrofit projects; Relay Protection Systems, SCADA control and monitoring, and GSU Transformer replacement
